Why Is It So Hard To Control Blood Sugar?
Why is it so hard to bring down high blood sugar consistently? (Original Post)
How come even the high end of normal blood sugar ranges increases our risk of stroke, heart disease, cancer, and early death so much?
Humans cannot eat sugars, grains, and starches regularly and stay healthy, period.
Think about this:
6-10 hormones and direct biological responses enable our body to RAISE blood sugar without an outside stimulus or chemical trigger like certain foods.
Dozens of combined bodily reactions can raise blood sugar from a mere thought, perceived danger, bodily movement, or inactivity.
Only ONE hormone and mechanism can actively LOWER blood sugar and insulin, AND it needs an outside trigger from certain foods.
Why would this be?
Why would it be so EASY and NATURAL to raise blood sugar at any given point and have such a limited option that needs external stimuli to lower it?
Throughout the evolution of the human genetic code, there has never been a need to lower blood sugar.
We have existed and evolved on diets of little to no sugar, grains, or starches, and there is no physiological need to force blood sugar down because it never got high in the first place.
Over millions of years, we developed this amazing genome, eating high-fat, moderate-protein foods, filler fibrous veggies, and virtually no carbs.
Humans evolved through an ice age, not in the tropics.
Our evolutionary diet provided ketones for energy from fat, the preferred energy source for your heart, kidneys, brain, muscles, and other tissues.
Only red blood cells require glucose in less than a teaspoon PER DAY.
Our body can literally make that much glucose in its sleep without eating a single carb.
The bottom line is that sugar/grains and starches, even in veggies and fruit, ruin our bodies, cause degenerative disease, mental decline, weight gain, and age us prematurely, and do so very quickly.
Degenerative, chronic diseases come with our modern processed food diets and will go away if you stop feeding them the sugars, grains, and starches that they need to do their damage.
Priorities, my friends.
What is more important? Your daily bread, or a long healthy life?
Choose wisely and enjoy.
Choose poorly, and don’t be surprised by the outcome.
We can do better.
